The countries above it were Switzerland, Sweden, the United States of America, South Korea and Singapore. One area in which the UK has done well is in deep science startups. According to Press Release 2026/959 , there have been more than 30,000 such enterprises since 2020. The USA accounted for 12,752, China 3,466 but the UK came in third with 2,133.
